Each year, millions put down resolutions and goals that they will implement once the clock strikes midnight on the 1st of the new year. By the end of that new year, we look back and pat ourselves on the back, or cringe at our failure. I cringed today when I looked back on my goals I set prior to January 1, 2014. Not because I failed. But because for the most part, I reached them. And I feel like I sold myself short.
I aimed for the moon, got there, and saw r its just craters and shadows. There were a couple of goals I didn’t reach. I didn’t hit my overall income goal and I didn’t make it to Europe, but other than that I hit all my goals by June and then I was stuck! I was making a trip across country and only gave myself a half a tank of gas. I ran out of motivation.
The 2015 Challenge
- No Drinking Alcohol
- No Fried Foods
- Replacing the words Bitch, Thot & Nigga with Goddess, Queen, God and King
- Travel to Italy, Rome and London
This year, I’m not aiming for tangible goods. I’m in this for the long haul. My resolutions, if I’m able to focus, will change my life. So i’ll refer to my resolutions as challenges. In order to win 2015, from January 1st to December 1st, I have to complete my challenge. Just like any challenge, I’ve decided to offer myself a reward. Try it. Don’t make a resolution, make a challenge. But make it worth it. Feel free to share yours. Lets make 2015, the Year of Finishing.
